Collection-Master is Vertican's established collections platform, and Vertican describes it as fully supported while publishing a roadmap that converges on Q-LawE. Its published strengths are breadth of client interfaces and depth of accounting and forms. Otto's differences are where rules are applied and what the record can prove afterwards.

## Key facts

- Vertican calls Collection-Master "The undisputed leader in debt collection technology and automation" and says users "manage millions of claims".
- "Over 400 bidirectional working client interfaces for the largest national and local credit grantors" — published breadth Otto does not have today.
- Compliance Tools are described as "Mission-critical protections throughout the application", with "Call Screen ensures compliance with Mini-Miranda and Regulation F requirements".
- Reporting outside the application runs on a copy: "transferring all Collection-Master data to a SQL server in near real-time with SQL-Sync".
- Vertican's own February 2025 deck lists the product's future as converging on Q-LawE, and offers "Transition to Q-LawE on your terms".

## How this comparison is sourced

From Vertican's own material only: the Collection-Master product page and the Mastermind deck Collection-Master Is Here To Stay of February 2025, both accessed 25 July 2026 and both linked in full below. We have not run the product. Where their pages are silent, this page records silence rather than inferring a gap, and where they claim something we cannot verify, the claim is theirs and is marked as theirs.

## What Vertican says Collection-Master does

The product page opens with "The undisputed leader in debt collection technology and automation" and describes "a robust and integrated system" for organising and tracking cases, managing consumer information and automating key processes. The named components are Paperless File, Accounting — "Robust options to handle a wide range of debt collection practices facilitating the proper methodology to handle the varying client and state requirements" — Forms Management, Reporting with "Hundreds of pre-built reports", Compliance Tools, Automation with "Smart built-in if-this-than-that technology", and Integration and Scalability, including "Over 400 bidirectional working client interfaces". Vertican Support Access raises support tickets from inside the application.

## The strengths worth stating plainly

Two of them, and neither is ours. Interface breadth: four hundred bidirectional client interfaces is an asset accumulated over a long time, and for a firm whose clients are numerous and idiosyncratic it may be the deciding factor. Forms depth: "Fast and flexible word processing that efficiently generates legal forms for law firms nationwide" describes a county-format library no new entrant reproduces quickly. A comparison page that omitted these would be describing a different product. Ours is narrower today and the honest way to test the difference is to hand any vendor your three highest-volume counties and your two largest client interfaces and ask to see them working against your own data.

## Compliance tooling, and the difference in where a rule runs

Vertican describes Compliance Tools as "Mission-critical protections throughout the application" and names "Call Screen ensures compliance with Mini-Miranda and Regulation F requirements"; the 2025 deck adds Regulation F work including "7-in-7 enhancements" and "Debt itemization Infinity Fields". We have no basis to characterise how those behave in practice and do not attempt to. What is describable is our own mechanism: a rule is evaluated before the action and can refuse it, the refusal is recorded with the rule that caused it and the time the next attempt becomes permissible, and the same configuration governs every channel rather than each channel carrying its own copy. Neither description is a compliance outcome, and ours is not offered as one.

## Where the reporting lives

Their page describes "Real-time data mining; instantly track claim status, liquidation rates, and profitability" alongside SQL-Sync: "Leverage the power of SQL by transferring all Collection-Master data to a SQL server in near real-time with SQL-Sync." That is a copy of the data available for querying. Otto's reporting reads the working record itself, and the client's own view through Glass reads the same record rather than a periodic extract. Whether the distinction matters to you depends on how often somebody outside your firm asks a question whose answer changes during the day.

## The published roadmap, in their words

Vertican's February 2025 deck is titled Collection-Master Is Here To Stay, opens with "Collection-Master Lives!", records continued enhancement, and asks its own users to affirm that the product "is fully supported and enhanced to meet industry needs for the foreseeable future". The same deck's slide on the product's future lists "Converging features (VTFS; PaymentVision; Reg F) to work with our enterprise Q-LawE", "Transition to Q-LawE on your terms", and "Less expensive and an easier transition when you're ready to upgrade". Both halves are theirs. A firm evaluating a change of system is entitled to weigh them together, and the fair reading is that a supported product has a published upgrade path to the vendor's enterprise platform.

## What we do not know

We have found no published price for Collection-Master and print none. Their pages do not describe a creditor-facing portal, an append-only audit record, on-device tokenisation before text reaches a language model, or workflow authoring in plain English, and we do not treat that silence as proof of absence. TODO: verify whether Vertican publishes deployment or hosting details for Collection-Master, and cite them here if it does.
